Love in Bloom (work in progress)

This is becoming an obsession for me I have utterly enjoyed every second of this painting and It keeps evolving and that is cool too. The subjects of love in bloom are my wife and daughter. I have enjoyed experimenting with new techniques and compositions this is what I have so far. At first  it was going to be a straight forward traditional portrait. The I was going to add inlays of important moments in her first few days. Then I had the idea to intertwine the flowers and their bodies. I am still trying to put the look of life into them it is slow going but it is starting to happen. I love my job! Even though this is not a commissioned portrait I am looking forward to doing many more with strong natural ties as well as some new wildlife work. Will keep you guys posted on how this one progresses and any new paintings that come up in the following weeks

Contemplation

Hello again everyone. I recently finished this piece I entitled contemplation. I took a trip to the zoo a few weeks ago and one of the male lowland gorillas looked deep in thought laying on the grass lost in contemplation of what I will never know. The painting is acrylic on canvas I painted the background like i did to emphasize  that the world around him did not matter at that point he was quite simply lost in his thoughts. Hope that you enjoy.

Thanks
